BrilliantTS is a tech startup company based in Korea. They are about to revolutionize the tech card industry and are currently developing a brand new “Smart Card” which they call the “Brilliant Card”. The Brilliant Card acts as an all-in-one card that will combine the users credit cards, debit cards, reward cards, and membership cards into a single all purpose card. They can even support public transportation cards and work as a security door key.
BrilliantTS made its name with SmartTV during their start but they are generating a lot of buzz with their Brilliant Card. The Brilliant card is a connecter between credit cards and smart tech devices. Even tho it has multiple functions its use is very simple which is important to incorporate it into the general public. There are buttons on the card which the user can press to select which card they want to use. The small screen on the card will show which card is being selected.
With all the technology that goes into the Brilliant card you would think it would be as thick as a smartphone….however it is no thicker than a normal credit card and can easily fit into any size wallet. It is not easy to put all this technology into a standard .8mm plastic card. All the chips that go into the Brilliant card needs to be embedded from the wafer processing stage. Also since credit cards in general need to be durable the chips need to be well protected from normal day to day wear and tear credit card use. The Brilliant card is so durable now that it can even be bent and twisted. All the cards therefore come with a guarantee of durability.
The main concern from users is theft. What if a all in one card like the Brilliant card gets lost or stolen? The card comes with a app that uses bluetooth to let you know when the card is away from you up to a certain distance. The card itself does not hold any personal information because it uses a magnetic strip that erases all transactions once it is used.
Now with the Brilliant card customers don’t have to look through countless cards in their fat wallets to get their discount card or cash point card. Sure these days there are apps that allow you to upload your cards on your smartphone. However it is still a hassle to access those cards on the phone. People still rather use a “card” when paying. The Brilliant Card does not need an new infrastructure. It is already based on technologies that already exist such as magnetic strips, IC card, and NFC payments which make it easy to use the card anywhere.
